These standards are based on a list of professional competencies around standards determined by the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance, and Instruction (IBSTPI), the competency badges complement coursework in the instructional design program.

Design and Development
This supra badge has six sub badges, instructional design and development process, systematic design, design instructional interventions, select or modify existing instructional materials, develop instructional materials, and design learning assessment.
